Whole Wheat Biscuits I love the smell of baked bread! These biscuits are soft, ready to accompany any main dish like a lasagna or spaghetti. The key is to leave them resting only the indicated time. Recipe

  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 1/2 cups unbleached white flour
  • 2 cups of quick oats
  • 1/2 cup of gluten flour
  • 3/4 cup Sucanat or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 4 cups of warm water
  • 1 cup of oil

Directions

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Mix the oil and the warm water and add them to the dry ingredients.
  3. Stir only enough to make a moist but not a sticky dough, adding more flour as necessary.
  4. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop dough on to sprayed cookie sheets.
  5. Let rise until doubled (30-45 min). Bake for thirty minutes or until lightly browned at 350 degrees.
